Thailand

In Thailand, palliative care has been recently integrated into good medical care. The project conducted by the Wishing Well Foundation aims to develop palliative care through professional training and the creationt of family support groups.

Burkina Faso

The project, led by the University Hospital in Burkina Faso, addresses several issues such as delayed consulations and/or late referrals due to lack of information and awareness, late access to specialized care and inadequate follow-up problem

Cameroon

The project focuses on the extension and of the pediatric hemato-oncology unit of the Center and the training of health professionals.

Paraguay

In collaboration with other partners in Paraguay and Italy, the “Ninos de Acosta Ñu” Pediatric General Hospital will focus in increasing the quality of treatment and life of the children diagnosed with cancer.

Colombia

Recognized as a public health priority in Colombia, the MCM project contributes in the development and maintainance of an information system that gives updated relevant information about childhood cancer characteristics in the city of Cali.

Bolivia

The project aims to offer free diagnosis for leukemia and follow-up on leukemia studies for Bolivian children.

Pakistan

An estimated 60%of children do not get proper diagnosis and treatment in Pakistan; 40% of those treated do not get active treatment because of late show and lack of follow-up. The project aims to train health staff on cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Pakistan

Due to resource restrictions, Karachi Cancer Registry has faced and immense limitation in terms of the services it can provide. The project aims to cover the entire city of Karachi for data collection and adequate referral systems.

Led by the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the National University of Asunción, the project aims to create a childhood cancer network at a national level in order to improve the access to care and treatment to children with cancer in Paraguay.

The project focuses on the access to palliative care and training on pain management for terminally ill children with cancer.

Ivory Coast

The project focuses on the rehabilitation of the 24 year old paediatric oncology unit of the Treichville University Hospital to improve the condition of children patients and their families.

Honduras

The project is part of a collective effort designed to decentralize paediatric cancer care in Honduras in to reduce abandonment and increase the retention of patients on treatment protocols.

Kenya

As Burkitt's lymphoma is the most common lymphoma among children in Western Kenya, the project aims to increase public and professional education as well as determine environemental/familial factors to improve childhood cancer prevention and control.

Philippines

The aim of this project is to improve the treatment of retinoblastoma and childhood leukemia in the Philippines .

Senegal

The My Child Matters funds contributed to the renovation of the Pediatric Oncology Unit in the Aristide Le Dantec Hospital in Dakar.

Tanzania

The project focuses on the treatment of the most common childhood cancer in Tanzania which is Burkitt's Lymphoma. The model used for Burkitt's Lymphoma will be expanded to other childhood cancers.
