NCD Alliance Common Interest Group

Background

The NCD Alliance Common Interest Group (CIG) has been established to create a powerful network group of like minded civil society organisations who wish to work together to achieve the NCD Alliance six key objectives:

1. NCD / disease national plans for all
2. Improved lifestyles
3. Strengthened health systems
4. Global access to affordable and good quality medicines
5. A tobacco free world
6. Human rights for people with NCDs

Membership

Membership of the NCD Alliance CIG is obtained through the support of one of the NCD Alliance founding members. Membership is open to civil society organisations with an interest in NCDs, their risk factors and the UN NCD Summit taking place in September 2011.

Organizations joining the CIG will:

• Share information, contribute ideas and work as a partner to support the work of the NCD Alliance
• Support NCD Alliance objectives
• Be listed on ncdalliance.org
• Encourage their members to support the NCD Alliance UN NCD Summit objectives

The NCD Alliance will communicate regularly to CIG members through e-mail and teleconferences.
